Our wedding collection was specially designed for traditional printing methods, and we offer digital printing upon request only for specific components as an addition.

LETTERPRESS PRINTING

Letterpress is a traditional printing method where an inked raised surface is pressed into the paper. We use a printing plate that matches the design to transfer the text or image onto the paper with the help of hand-fed antique cast iron platen presses operated by human force. During the printing process the sheets are printed one by one for each colour, so each print becomes unique, unrepeatable and gains a palpable texture. The term blind letterpress refers to the process when no ink is used.

FOIL STAMPING

Foil stamping or hot foil printing is similar to letterpress but uses foil instead of ink. This process requires a metal-based heated printing plate to transfer the text or image onto the paper. There are many foil colours, but gold remains the most popular and widely used colour. This printing method is a spectacular and effective decorating technique that gives a shiny look to printed designs.

BLIND EMBOSSING

In embossing, the paper gets sandwiched between two special printing plates, and the embossed graphic element forms a raised surface on the paper that can be felt by touch. Please note that the negative of the printed graphic will appear as a debossing on the other side of the paper. Blind embossing can be used to create a colourless, clean and elegant pattern, text or logo that contributes to a unique work of art.

PAPER TYPES

Our paper collection is carefully chosen and thoughtfully organised to fulfıl your needs.

We use several creative paper types ranging from 300 to even 1200 gsm paperweight.
Depending on the project we are working on, these can be 1-ply or glued together by us in multi-layered sheets. Sustainability is also important to us, and we love to experiment with paper, so we recycle our scrap paper by turning them into handmade paper.

We use double thick 600 gsm uncoated papers for most of our invitation suites to achieve a luxurious feel and bring out the best attributes of letterpress.

LETTERPRESS INK & FOIL

Essential components to transform your vision into printed text or image.

We are mixing the ink colours by hand according to the PANTONE® Uncoated Formula Guide, so if you need a custom colour that is in harmony with the event, we can help you. Get inspired by our colour palette that is specially selected to match the paper colours of our semi-custom wedding collection.

Be aware that the ink colour has to be darker than the paper colour because almost every letterpress ink is translucent.
For dark coloured paper we recommend foil stamping.
